A Tale of Two Lovers

About a girl, by Caitlin Webb @WriterCaits

1. CAITLINMy sunglasses aren’t working and the burger is unsettling my already fragile stomach. I didn’t get much sleep last night and while going outside seemed like a good idea at the time, lying in the Pavilion gardens on a Saturday with children running around seems inappropriate and my brain can’t cope with it. I blame last night. It is so unlike me but also like me, at least the me I am right now.

My friend Peyton asked me around his and we didn’t get much sleep. Well we got about an hour but we had better things to do, like sleeping together. I started staying round his when we realised neither of us wanted a relationship but we still wanted each other. It made sense since we knew there was no future so we just decided to have fun.

So after managing to get some sleep, this morning I was woken up by Greg calling me to ask me where I was. Lying in another man’s bed with only a sheet covering me, I completely forgot I had plans with the person I actually fancied – I could be going to Duke of York’s. I’ve always wanted to go to the cinema since I hear they put on arts films and the building looks cool outside. I also wouldn’t mind grabbing some popcorn and hanging out. It’s a shame since I could actually imagine being romantic with him rather than just getting drunk with Peyton. Greg and I shared things in common rather than just our attraction to each other but I’m too tired so I’m going to have to sit this one out. I mean, I couldn’t just go from one man’s bed to another man’s heart? Could I?
