Richard Herring: The Best
Gathering together some of the best topics from his previous shows, Richard Herring’s show was his own vintage mixtape of material – occasional jarring links and all. This was a showcase of Herring’s Puckish humour, joyfully puerile and righteously indignant, mining his previous research into genitalia, facial hair, and the Bible for the golden laughs. The format robbed him of much of an opportunity to go off script, but his gentle teasing of the front row gave a taste of playful spontaneity.
Both indulgent and generous in spirit, this gave a glimpse of where Herring has come from and left us still curious as to where he is going next.
