Building a Future: Foster & Co make an exciting new start on the city’s property scene
Foster & Co may well be the new kids on the block but they are kids with a wide range of experience in the property industry.
Edward Foster was formerly at Hamptons, a well established brand with a strong national reputation. “I loved being at Hamptons and I gained valuable experience there, but after ten years I knew that it was time for me start out on my own. I have certainly built up a network of clients and friendship groups, and realised that I was ready to get out of the corporate world and create my own independent brand.”
Foster & Co have chosen to base themselves in an office just off Church Road in Hove, in The Drive. We decided that we wanted to operate from an office, a smart office rather than the format of a high-street shop. Over the last few years we have noticed that fewer and fewer clients walk into that older format. We have to acknowledge that a lot of clients will now use online services when looking for a property to buy or rent, but there is still a need to meet people face to face and our smart office will give us that facility. But at the same time we did want to have a street presence, and with our office we have achieved both. It was important to us to be able to invite our clients into a smart and welcoming environment and I’m delighted that we have created just that.”
They allow professional photography to tell the story
So what area of the property market are they planning to work in? “We are not intending to limit ourselves to one area. We plan to offer a broad spectrum of services across sales and lettings as well as property management, and with my team of Charlie Foreman and Lily Hawkins I think we are ideally placed to do just that. We opened for business in April and already we have over 30 instructions on the books with properties ranging in price from £275,000 to £3,000,000. Right now our portfolio is city-wide and we certainly want to be seen as a city-wide business, but we also have interests beyond the city and we are already looking beyond with a keen interest in new home developments across the county and new sites too.
Foster & Co have invested in the very best and most up-to date technologies and have a keen eye on modern marketing methods. At the same time they embrace tried and tested methods of doing business with beautifully designed marketing materials in which they describe a home’s location. They then allow professional photography to tell the story and inspire potential buyers to go along and view a home live.
Buying, selling, renting, new homes, property management and property consultancy will be the core of this exciting new business and Edward, Lily and Charlie are already excited by the strong start that they have seen in such a short time.
