Siblings

Real-life sisters Maddie and Marina Bye are full of energy, vitality and talent. Performance is not only shared in their genes but also in their training, which shines through in their carefully choreographed dances, enjoyable confidence on stage, and engaging commitment to everything they perform – from Shakespeare to Ghost Hunters. But, as seen most profoundly in their turn with the Bard, the clarity of what they’re trying to do does frequently get lost in their enthusiasm. They are impressive performers both, utilising the pair’s dramatic and clown training adeptly, but the polish is still to come. Which is only fair as this is the first performance of their first show. Stumbling over reluctant audience participation (and leaving one participant on the stage as blackout dropped), and some nice ideas that glimpse at more once fleshed out, combined with their great joie de vivre and the fun promise a great show on the horizon. It’s just not here yet.
