Ghulam Hussain Cup: Crown Office Row, Brighton’s annual beach volleyball tournament won by Stiles Harold Williams
Crown Office Row held their 7th annual beach volleyball tournament at Yellowave beach sports venue located on Madeira Drive in Brighton.
This year’s event contested the Ghulam Hussain Cup which is named after a dear colleague and keen participant in the annual volleyball competition, following his unexpected passing in 2015. The tournament was won by Stiles Harold Williams, independent property advisors based in Jubilee Street, and the trophy will have pride of place in their office for the next 12 months.
This year the tournament was the biggest yet with 18 teams taking part and raising £2,675 for Rockinghorse Children’s Charity. This brings the total raised for the Brighton-based charity to £15,000 from this event over the last seven years.

As the official fundraising arm of The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) and a vital supporter of the Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU), the money raised will enable Rockinghorse to continue to support sick children and babies in Sussex by providing much-needed life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment.
Raising £2,675 for Rockinghorse Children’s Charity
Event organiser, James Hart, who is the First Junior Clerk at Crown Office Row barristers Chambers said: “We are grateful to each of the teams that took part in the tournament and their much valued support of this annual event.“
Rockinghorse Corporate Fundraising Manager, Analiese Doctrove, added: “The Crown Office Row volleyball tournament is always a fantastic event with supporters taking part from companies from across the city. We would of course like to say a huge thank you to everyone for taking part and helping to raise the £2,675 for Rockinghorse. This takes the Crown Office Row total to £15,000 which has enabled us to continue our vital work at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, Brighton – thank you!”.
