Shutte The Unromantic
Seasoned comedy polymath, Katy Schutte, is querying the received norms and expectation of what qualifies as a romantic experience. By weaving detail-rich storytelling with classic romcom tropes and autobiographical mix tapes, Schutte explores her own awkward relationship with well-meaning but too often misguided gestures of ‘romance’ to date. She created a very friendly, informal and intimate space in which to spin her story yarn. The narrative is not chronological or strictly linear in its unfurling, more like a good movie plot, it is coherent, candid and completely compelling.
