Welcome to West Sussex News, Latest TV’s Mike Mendoza takes us through the latest updates from Adur, Worthing and Shoreham. First, he speaks to Councillor Joe Pannell from Lancing City Council about a metal recycling fish they have received, which acts as a can and plastic bottle recycling bin. The public put cans and bottle in the mouth of the fish which will eventually fill up and show how much people have been recycling. Next, Mike interviews Wendy Peters about her efforts to ‘Keep Lancing Lovely’ and being the driving force in getting the council to purchase the new fish, which will be named by children around the area.
Mike moves over the Shoreham FC to speak to Stuart Slaney about how the football club are doing following a number of unforeseen problems that have threatened to stop clubs operations. Despite this, the team are heading to the playoffs, fighting for promotion and increasing their youth teams from 7 to 14 teams. They discuss recent issues with women’s teams, following Lancing FC getting rid of their team and how Shoreham are combating this by starting up two teams, offering Lancing FC women the option to come over and join their teams for the rest of the season and future.
Finally, we hear from Bob Smytherman, Village Crier for Lancing and Town Crier for Adur and Worthing about his recent retirement from politics and his excitement for his new posts.
