Roisin Conaty: Life Hunter

The mainstay of this Edinburgh Fringe Preview show is the tedious onslaught of life’s continual disappointment, and whether or not any of us are truly equipped to survive living. It occasionally veers into dark, even morose material, but always in Roisin’s cheerfully upbeat voice; she’s always at pains to argue that while the words might be tragic, she herself isn’t, and in doing so manages not only to deflect any sense of self pity, but also comes across as the sort of person you’d want to meet in the bar, holding court. An hour of cheerful misery.
