Stage: drama at The Hawth

The winter season of drama at Crawley’s Hawth continues with two great plays

Touching Bodies
Pitchy Breath presents an exciting new piece of writing by Paul Macauley. Behind the glowing windows and under the street lights of every town, lonely bodies of teenagers, young adults, parents and the old live unaware of each other. That is until tonight, when Gemma will leave Marianne holding the baby, Justin will receive a visit from the police, Mercedes will be cornered by a strange man, plus Sian and Toby will finally spend their first night together.
One night when each will realise sometimes we all need somebody, nobody, everybody, anybody.

The Hawth, Crawley, Thursday 15 November 7.30pm, £7.50/£6.50. A Crawley Arts Development Event

Misery
You may have read the novel, you’ve more than likely watched the movie – now see the stage play. Adapted from Stephen King’s award winning novel by Simon Moore (writer of acclaimed mini-series turned movie Traffic), Misery is a dark and twisting tale which enthrals the audience from the very beginning to its climactic and unexpected end.

Swan Lake & Sleeping Beauty

This winter you can experience the magic of Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty as the Russian State Ballet and Opera House brings two delightful, classic ballets to Eastbourne.

Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty remain two of the most well-known and loved ballets of all time. Today these timeless tales continue to capture the imagination of their audience and inspire both young and old.

The world famous Russian State Ballet and Opera Theatre of Komi has delighted audiences since 1958. They are renowned for their ballet and opera masterpieces. The Russian State Ballet and Opera House have ensured that this classic ballet remains just as spell binding today as it was when first composed over 130 years ago.

Alexej Ignatow, the producer for Amande Concerts said: “We take pride in introducing new ballet companies and thoroughly enjoy bringing them to perform to audiences across the UK. This will remain a big part of our strategy for years to come, setting us apart from others. When you see the Russian State Ballet and Opera House logo, you can be sure of the quality of our productions. We endeavor to bring different artists every year. This means that although you may have seen Swan Lake one year, our performance the following year will contain different sets, costumes and choreography. It will feel like a different show altogether.”

Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty promise to impress ballet lovers by showcasing the outstanding skill of the company’s 45 dancers and 30 mesmerising musicians. The show will entertain adult and child story lovers alike with its vibrant portrayal of these classic tales.
