Mr Bruce and Chucks return to Brighton
South London duo The Correspondents (aka Mr Bruce and Chucks) return with their brand new single ‘Well Measured Vice’, due for release on 28 January. The single is accompanied by a bespoke animated video that was three months in the making. It was hand-drawn to over 2,232 frames by Mr Bruce himself, while he was recovering from a broken metatarsal.
Forming in 2007, The Correspondents quickly burst onto the scene in a whirl of sweat and spandex, picking up plaudits across the board for their frenetic genre-hopping breed of electronica and incendiary live shows, replete with outrageous outfits, travelators and infra-red sensored light boxes (earning them The Telegraph’s Top 10 Glastonbury highlights two years in a row). Since then, they have wowed audiences large and small everywhere: from Glastonbury, The Secret Garden Party, Bestival and Lovebox through to Kensington Palace, and The Tower Of London (!) to name but a few.
Essentially an anti-prohibition anthem against contemporary East London censorship laws, ‘Well Measured Vice’ sees Mr Bruce proclaim: “What is life, what is life without well measured vice?”. The new album is due in the next few weeks and they have just been confirmed for Meadowlands Festival at the end of May.
