Competition nut and endearingly infectious enthusiast Victoria Melody followed last year’s triumphant Northern Soul with a show that embraced the not-dissimilar worlds of dog shows and beauty pageants. With her gorgeous Basset hound, Major, asleep on stage, Ms Melody took us on an insightful and frequently hilarious journey that covered inappropriate stud mishaps and local best-in-show successes alongside her own foray into the human equivalent as she competed to be Mrs UK, while Major strove for success at the cut-throat, exclusive Crufts. Her immensely loveable persona combined with tongue-in-cheek outsider observations of these strange worlds made for a laugh-out-loud show.
