Failure (Other Opportunities For Non-Linear Success)

“I failed to write a show about failure” declares Mary Pearson defiantly at the end of her hour long journey through an enchanted maze of performance art and satire. This is not strictly true as failure, it appears to Pearson, is in the eye of the beholder and projected on to us. What the show was really about was deconstructing how we perceive our failures and successes. This sentiment was explored through varying movements; contemporary dance, satirical character-based monologues, song (taste levels varying from the excellent Stevie Wonder to the diatribe of Fun) and some intriguing use of audience participation. For an open mind, this was an bemusing and memorable piece.
