Laetitia Sadier

With Stereolab sadly no more, their chanteuse, finally a confirmed solo act, apologised in advance for being rusty but this proved unnecessary as she delivered a fine performance of new material accompanied only by her own Gibson SG. The capacity crowd were treated to Laetitia’s instantly recognisable dreamy voice, singing in French and English. All the songs, whether reflective tone poems or up-tempo indie pop, were underpinned with exquisite jazz flavours. ‘Ceci Est Le Coeur’ was pure emotion and fans were rewarded with a solitary Stereolab number. An untitled song about mathematics was debuted with panache and two encores completed a blissful evening.
