Russian Circles

There’s nothing quite like a rainy evening on Brighton seafront, if you’re tucked up indoors that is, or squashed into the confines of The Haunt to see the mighty Russian Circles. It has to be said that heavy bands which slot into the post-rock/progressive genre are not for everyone but for those that do connect with such galloping and heart-racing tonality, Russian Circles are up their with the likes of Isis (RIP). Chelsea Wolfe howled up a storm prior to Russian Circles and in the blink of an eye the venue was packed to the rafters. Russian Circles sailed through classics from ‘Geneva’, ‘Empros’ and their new album ‘Memorials’. Not too shabby for a Thursday.
