The ongoing presentations of experimental music in Seven Dials continued with a performance by the much-revered Jazz Warriors’ vibraphonist.

Tonight, he was feeding his instrument through electronics, beginning by looping himself over clips of cricket commentaries and other sound bites that worked surprisingly well, followed by live mixing and a piece that utilised the stowed mallets to great effect. Jazz Kerplunk anyone? The short set ended with an unadulterated piece that let the sumptuous sound of vibes resonate throughout the small room. This interesting night began with a challenging, free performance from sax and violin duo, Alison Blunt and Gianni Mimmo.
