Brighton Pride announces 2014 theme
Pride Brighton and Hove is promising to be louder and prouder than ever before.
Organisers of the internationally famous event have announced that this year’s parade on August 2 will have the theme The World’s a Disco.
They claim it will celebrate the music, dance and colour from around the globe.
There will also be a separate campaigning theme of Freedom To Live, which hopes to raise awareness of those countries where homosexuality is punishable by death.
About 160,000 people are expected to line the route of the annual parade, which starts on the seafront.
A ticketed festival will then take place in Preston Park with extended opening times from midday until 10pm.
As well as the main stage, there will be eight entertainment areas featuring dance tents, cabaret, performance, funfair, market and community area.
Ticket prices for super-early bird and early bird ticket prices are frozen for a limited time while advance tickets are discounted to £15.
Organisers have pledged £1 from every ticket sold will go to the Rainbow Fund, which supports LGBT groups in the city.
Thos wanting to take part in the parade can register from next month.
