Starlets Burlesque Show
It’s hard to review a show which was (as it virtually turned out) a private party. The host (Dawn Gracie) knew a very large majority of the audience (either past students of her classes or family members of those about to perform); screeching hello or having cosy chit chats with annoying regularity. Constant whinging about her high heels, an occupational hazard one would think, did not exactly endear her to the neutral. The best of the pro turns (discounting the students, good on them for giving it a go) was Miss Cairo; extremely funny and bags of attitude. The night was made bearable by comic David Jordan whose musical turns were sharp, clever, and self deprecating content brought some class to proceedings.
