Ashdown Park Hotel’s Country Club member raises over £1800 for Macmillan
One of Ashdown Park Hotel’s Country Club members, Arlene Spicer, recently organised a sponsored charity walk through the stunning grounds of the hotel in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care and managed to raise a staggering £1824.
Along with 28 other walkers, Arlene, from Coleman’s Hatch in Sussex, completed the 3.5 mile walk in just over two hours.
Commenting on her efforts, Arlene said:
“I never thought we would be able to raise that much money! The generosity of the public and our friends and family has been astonishing, so thank you! The service that Macmillan nurses provide is incredible, so it felt amazing to hand them the cheque.”
Ben Booker, General Manager at Ashdown Park Hotel & County Club, commented:
“Arlene and the other walkers should be very proud of themselves. The amount of money they managed to raise for Macmillan Cancer Care is truly fantastic. Macmillan is such a worthwhile charity and it’s fantastic to hear that members of our country club have helped in some way.”
