Wave world: Because they’re worth it
Pamper yourself, in the name of local wildlife
An animal charity is asking people to pamper themselves, because they believe our local animal lovers and wildlife are worth it! East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service (WRAS) is running a Pamper Day at the Landsdowne Hotel on Eastbourne seafront between 10am and 6pm on Saturday 4 April. Tickets are just £18 per person, and for this you get a two hour time slot at the event, two pre booked treatments, a raffle ticket and welcome drinks. The remaining appointments will be available on a first come, first served basis on the day.
Treatments available will include manicures, facials, Bowen therapy, metamorphic technique, physiotherapy consultations, acupuncture, massage, and more – Medium Jacqueline will even be available to perform psychic readings.
WRAS deals with thousands of wildlife casualties every year and is about to start its busy spring and summer season, where the charity’s bills will rocket as a result of hundreds of baby birds and mammals being admitted for hand rearing. “We will get a wide variety of orphaned and injured young wildlife. From baby birds thrown out of nests by predators, to those being thrown out during stormy weather. There are also those who are found orphaned as a result of their parents being shot, poisoned, run over, or attacked by cats, dogs and other wild predators. Our amazing staff and volunteers will be working round the clock to take care of our wildlife, with orphan rearing teams starting as early as 6am and finishing as late as 11pm. When premature or very young wildlife is admitted they can sometimes need monitoring and feeding during the night too, meaning our staff get very little sleep,” explains WRAS founder Trevor Weeks MBE.
“During this busy time we struggle to fundraise, as our time is taken up dealing with the casualties, so events this like really make a big difference to our charity and how we can help support our local wildlife.
Please support us,” said Trevor.
