Reasons to be Pretty

“Reasons to be Pretty” is a moving, but very funny play and Tim McQuillen- Wright’s tight direction brings out the real power of the piece. It’s a simple enough story – Steph, played with power by Pamela Sian Evans, thinks her boyfriend Greg, given a touching emotional “unintelligence” by Fintan Shevlin, has said she is “ugly”, “regular” he claims. From this point on we watch their relationship painfully unwinding, when neither wants this to happen. They’re admirably supported by their ‘friends’ played by Scott Roberts and Jen Ley. Warning the language is strong but so are the raw emotions on display. It runs until 21 November.
