Financial help to buy annual bus tickets

Members of the East Sussex Credit Union (ESCU) can now apply for a monthly payment plan to purchase a Brighton & Hove Bus Company annual ticket on the Keycard.
The new scheme enables those who cannot afford the outlay of an annual ticket at £540 to spread the cost over 12 monthly payments with a finance agreement with the ESCU. Under the scheme the ticket price will be further discounted to £490 if paid in full giving the ticket holder unlimited bus travel for less than £9.50 per week.
Discounted deals on days out and mini breaks in the UK offered by Brighton & Hove Coaches will also be available to ESCU members on the same scheme.

We are always keen to ensure all members of our community can access fair deals and are particularly pleased we can now offer the discounted annual bus ticket that can be paid for monthly. This will enable those who are unable to pay the full price up-front to get the best price possible for unlimited travel across the bus network.”

The scheme is the latest the bus company has launched to extend its range of targeted discount fares. ‘Routes to Work’ was launched in October to offer 75% off bus travel for the first month in any new employment or apprenticeship if the employer is signed-up to the scheme.
