Flare Path
Flare Path (lamps that outline a runway during darkness) is set at RAF Bomber Command during the height of WW2 and follows some of the squadron and their wives. Emotions are stirred upon the arrival of a Hollywood actor and the inevitable ‘love triangle’ plot ensues.
This could have ended up being a saccharine lined piece of nostalgia, however ultimately this was an extremely solid show. The raked stage drew the audience in and although the ‘love triangle’ is slightly unrealistic, the emotions or bonds of the characters were not and were delivered extremely competently by the strong cast. A fine piece of theatre.
