Refused

Frontman Dennis Lyxzén told the crowd that when Refused last played Brighton, they were not well accepted. 2016 was a very different story. The Swedish hardcore punk band showcased their veteran status, by taking its evidently passionate audience on a euphoric, yet sweat-induced journey. Lyxzéns vocal delivery was consistent throughout, creating a majestic spectacle when being elevated from his feet by the audience. Though the atmopshere fell flat during pitstops of political and social driven dialogue, the band quickly redeemed and endured. They also digressed mid-song into Slayer’s Raining Blood, which nearly brought the venue down.
