The Boy With Tape On His Face Is Tape Face

After his huge success on America’s Got Talent this year as Tape Face, the Boy With Tape On His Face is successfully smoothing the transition from his old name to new with this anthology show of some of his best bits – along with a few new sparks to pique the funny bone. Set within the framework of a backstage dream, the vignettes of silent comedy utilising props, music and audience participation – as well as award-winning silent comedy skills from the Boy himself – we were transported to another world where anxiety dreams manifest as literal plate-spinning and every household item has the potential to be a puppet or flight of fancy. Just as sweet as ever, with that special ingredient of a slightly antagonistic clown, it did feel slightly too long. But that was mostly forgiven with a finale’s twist on an old ‘red balloon’ crescendo from the Boy’s back catalogue.
