There have always been drunken conversations – or sober ones – where past relationships are raked over, adjusted into a better light and examined from an altogether different perspective from the one the relationship ended with. Especially when it comes to counting quite how many of the dalliances have been written off as doomed. And here is your romcom premise.

Anna Faris plays Ally Darling, a woman scared by a magazine article that leads her to believe she’s pretty much filled up her quota of relationship bids. Faced with the self-imposed prospect of being alone, she starts her comedy journey of revisiting her past partners, assessing if she made a wrong turn along the way.

Aided by carefree neighbour Chris Evans, in a quid pro quo arrangement that sees her helping him avoid his blasts from the past, this is a search for true love hidden under a hastily passed by bushel. Can you guess where she might find it? Maybe there’s a twist. Maybe. Also starring Chris Pratt, Martin Freeman and Zachary Quinto.
