Andrew Kay is seeing the world in a whole new 360º way

I am no different from many fellow males in my love of toys for boys. I like a nice gadget, I really do and especially one that ties in with my obsession for all things Apple Mac. So when a good friend started to talk to me about a project a few years back I was very excited.

Now that project has come to fruition and I was delighted to be one of the first owners of a Gopano 360º lens.

“It sounds like magic and when you see it in action it is like magic”

John had been enthusing through the whole development about this simple addition to the iPhone but it was only when I had one in my sweaty little hands (I do have very little hands for a big bloke) that I could fully see why.

The Gopano clips onto the back of your iPhone into a supplied casing and after a few moments downloading the app, you can simply calibrate, focus and shoot. Held at arms length it records a panoramic video which, when played back, is controlled at your finger tips, enabling the viewer to watch any part of the full 360º film at will.

I know it sounds like magic and when you see it in action it is like magic. But I can also see the very practical application of this technology for so may businesses; sports, theatre, but above all property.

At the simple tap of a button you can make a full recording of a property both inside and out that would be totally interactive for potential buyers. An ideal way to show a client a property in advance of a real time viewing and one that requires only an iPhone and the lens which retails at £89.95.
