Van-tastic

We love this fabulous Edwardian family home at the heart of the Tongdean conservation area. With five double bedrooms, three receptions plus a library, a study and a conservatory, it is more than well blessed with accommodation and there’s even a heated swimming pool in the garden and outdoor dining terrace and a summer house. And just look at that drive! Plenty of room for the family cars and visitors, even a van.

On which thought we remembered that Nichola McAuliffe, one of British theatre’s most loved actors, will be here in April in Alan Bennett’s play The Lady In The Van, the tale of one Miss Shepherd who quite literally moved onto Bennet’s drive and stayed there. Not that we suggest she does that, but for such a grand lady of stage this would make a lovely home.
