Film: Wrath of the Titans 3D (12A)
Director: Jonathan Liebesman
Whoever thought there might be a Big Bad that the gods would be scared of? Well, clearly anyone who saw Clash Of The Titans did, and now it seems that ten years on some careless gods (naming no names) have lost control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader Kronos and need a little help calming things down. Understatement.
So, you’ve got gods on the run – who you gonna call? Demi-gods! Demi-gods are what happens when a true god and a mortal make whoopee, which is good for them as demi-god Perseus (Sam Worthington) was the one to help them out last time.
Seems he’s still on their trouble-speed dial as his quiet fishing life is interrupted with a call for aid. Good thing his dad is the mega Greek god Zeus (Liam Neeson) – well, good and bad, as it helps to have his strength and other advantages, but doesn’t offer much in the way of arguing for the quiet life he was after.
With massive effects, a star-studded cast that includes Rosamund Pike, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Nighy and Danny Huston, and a 12A certificate, this is set to become the Easter holiday family blockbuster it aspires to be. Pack in the popcorn and the kids!
