Sussex Salon Series: The Body Beautiful?

This series brings people together to explore a given topic very dear to the Zeitgeist. During this session the fleshy entity that we call ‘the body’ was explored with emphasis on the role played by media images, medical classifications and historic precedent. The panel for this session was well put together, with viewpoints represented from medical, historical and sociological backgrounds. They made plenty of space for audience’s voices to drive the discussion and all opinions were welcome here. The atmosphere was warm but challenging, engaged and confrontational but never hostile. With a complimentary glass of wine to round off the experience this glimpse into the salon series was lively and enjoyable.
