Burst water main floods Brighton street

Preston Street in Brighton was closed last night (Sunday 15 April) after a water main burst.

The road was still closed this morning as engineers worked to carry out emergency repairs.

Two East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews – one from Hove and one from Preston Circus – were called out as water flooded the street.

Sussex Police closed the one-way street at the seafront.

An engineer said that he hoped the work would be completed as soon as possible.
