Woody Pines

With vintage guitars and songs even older, Woody and his Southern states bandmates played their old-time mix of country blues, ragtime and swing over two sets in a room so hot the microphones were sweating. Felix, their new washboard player doubled on banjo and guitarist Lyon switched to clarinet to enhance the jazzier Cab Calloway-style numbers. Original ‘Satisfied’ was a highlight, with delightfully playful lyrics and a melody that melted you like a mint julep’s ice on a summer’s day. They honky-tonked their way through classic covers, and their own songs that could have been written 70 years ago. Yeehaw!
