Brighton murder suspect freed on police bail

A 21-year-old murder suspect from Brighton has been released on police bail as detectives continue to investigate the death of Jeffrey Burrows.

Mr Burrows – also known as Jeff, Humphrey or Big Humph – died after being stabbed at his home in Norfolk Square, Brighton, on Sunday evening (29 April).

Sussex Police said that the suspect was arrested at 9am on Monday (30 April) and had been freed until Tuesday 29 May.

Post-mortem tests were carried out on Monday and concluded that Mr Burrows, who grew up in Dungannon in Northern Ireland, had died from stab wounds.

A knife recovered at the flat is being examined to see whether it was the weapon used to kill him.
