A Séance With The Ogden Sisters

Blowing the lid off Victorian spirit seekers, this peculiar trio arrived as one rising from beneath the folds of the tablecloth dressed in widow’s weeds and greasepaint. Constant is the eldest and – it is emphasised – “has all the petty cash”, and quite clearly the attitude to match as she fiercely takes charge. Electra is the youngest and in tune with the spirit world, possibly aided by various narcotics and eccentricities it is later implied. And Adeline the difficult middle child (who we all suspect is more of a brother than a sister) does the heavy lifting and is a fabulous foil to the other two’s demands and sisterly dynamic. They guided us through a blindfolded journey into the spirit world, had minds read, met the Queen of Utopiana, and saw how bells might ring ‘unaided’. A remarkable assault on the senses, filled with dark laughter and many things that go bump in the night.
