Enjoy the perfect summer at Hove Place Bistro Pub & Gardens

Hove Place Bistro Pub & Gardens re-opens its doors and shows off its brand new look

Hove Place Bistro Pub & Gardens, First Avenue, Hove showcased its new look with an official re-launch party on Wednesday 25 April 2012. After extensive redecorating of the interior, the front terrace and back gardens, as well as the introduction of a fresh and contemporary colour scheme throughout, the bistro style pub and dining rooms are much more spacious and easy to navigate.

In keeping with a mix of the old and the new, numerous murals of early 1900’s Hove adorn the walls and bar frontage, with a traditional pub feature being the large fireplace, both of which tie in nicely with the new range of furnishings in modern colours and fabrics.

One of Hove Place’s biggest assets is its huge Italian-style garden to the rear of the building, which was once part of a nunnery and still has some religious icons displayed on the walls, coupled with a conservatory to cater for our typically British weather.

Hove Place’s new head chef, award winning Mark Richardson, has been gaining rave reviews for the quality, taste and variety of his food. His menu includes an assortment of pub classics complemented by some wonderful new bistro style dishes, all made from scratch on site with much of the quality produce locally sourced.

On Wednesday 25 April 2012, over 100 influential local businesses, celebrities and personalities from the Sussex region attended the launch for a taste of the new menu and drinks range. Here’s what some of them had to say:

“I can see a really vast difference in this place, it’s looking good, really good and I wish them every success with it.”
Mike Holland – Local Businessman

“I first came to Hove Place about 15 years ago.
I’ve come along tonight and realised how extraordinarily different it is; it’s been refurbished and there are lots of interesting people here. I imagine it’s really going to take off.”

Ray Brooks – TV & Film Actor
“I’ve always been a customer of Hove Place and its very nice but now it looks much bigger, they have opened it up, it’s very busy and yet doesn’t feel too crowded, perfect.”
Fahid – Local Businessman

“Tremendous that a good local pub has refurbished itself and launched itself back onto the market place in this climate and put good old Church Road and Hove back on the map”.
Patrick – Local Businessman

“10 out of 10, looks great, well done!”
Mark Harper – Local Businessman

Leo Day, director at the Golden Lion Group commented “We wanted to move Hove Place from its popular, established, old school pub trade into a more modern, fresh take on what is still a classic pub, but with a more relaxed and modern feel. We’ve recruited an award winning head chef who has transformed the food on offer and have also introduced a more individual drinks range. The feedback has been great so far and we’re really excited for things to come.”

The newly refurbished Hove Place looks set to provide local residents, visitors, families and young professionals with a welcoming venue in a relaxed and stylish environment. Whether it is for business during the day or socially in the evenings it seems all bases are covered.
