Michael Winslow
Winslow (maker of weird noises in the Police Academy films) is billed as the man of 10,000 voices and it’s hard to argue against it. By referencing British cultural institutions (Python, Red Dwarf and Fawlty Towers), it was clear that comedically he’s an Anglophile which is possibly why his show was so well received. That and the range of vocal dexterity, which was astonishing. The highlights; a near perfect rendition of Led Zepplin (the best Robert Plant impression I’d ever heard) and the ‘Star Wars’ scene re-enactment – dialogue, lazers, explosions and all. There is only one word to describe this man… freak, but what a wonderful freak he is!
