The Right Price: Three to go
Property developers scour the city to find even the smallest pockets of land on which they can get planning permission to build. And a good thing it is, too; the need for new homes has never been greater.
This week we have found a small development of five houses, three of which are still available at the time of going to press. What really strikes us is that the developer has decided to create five small family homes in this space rather than cramming in a block of flats. We like new apartments, of course we do, but a nice family house, designed and built along traditional lines, ticks so many boxes. These are clearly traditionally styled, complete with pantiled upper floors and canopied porches.
Inside they are well thought out, not huge but cleverly configured; an ideal family home with two bedrooms and a further attic room. And outside there are lawned rear gardens, too. Located conveniently close to Portslade mainline station, there are plenty of local amenities in Boundary Road and the surrounding area, including a burgeoning local restaurant scene.
Most impressive though, is the price; the same as a two-bedroom flat just a few miles closer to the city centre. It certainly has to be worth serious consideration.
