Howlin’ Rain
This genre-defying experience covered every musical reference from Led Zeppelin to Pink Floyd. Fronted by Ethan Miller, looking like Grizzly Adams’ long lost uncle, this Californian quartet rocked out like Jimmi Hendrix and the Eagles’ love child.Very slow to warm up, they eventually hit their groove with some startlingly moving soulful ballads and impressive showmanship. Their extended numbers showcased their musical expertise, despite the last number falling dangerously close to entropy. Audience members who stayed the distance were rewarded with a unique act of a calibre rarely seen in Brighton.
