Dan Deacon

Electronica DJ Dan Deacon lived up to his reputation of creating as much audience interaction during his gig as possible.

Prior to the gig, we were told to download a custom-made app to display bright colours during Dan’s set. The app synched with special audio tones so the phones lit up in coloured unison. Highlights included ‘Paddling Ghost’ and ‘Mountain of Madness.’

Dan’s gear may have looked unorganised – a collection of keyboards, knobs and wires but it certainly paid off. The fun and games, and few technical hitches, didn’t detract from Dan and his two drummers, with their loud energy, machines, beats, distortions and…iPod shuffle, which collectively was a huge crowd-pleaser.
