Angela Barnes and Friends

Despite opening the show with the tedious ‘who’s from Brighton, who’s from Hove actually?’ gags, Angela’s “Brighton is where vegans come to die” joke helped rescue her. Angela’s first friend was Celia Pacquola, a hilariously funny Australian whose misunderstanding over being offered a Penguin with a cuppa had us all in stiches. Next up was Trevor Lock. Maybe he was just having an off night, but the audience mainly seemed to laugh out of nervous discomfort so by the time Josh Widdicombe, who was adequate in the funny department, came on I think we were all ready to go home.
