SEVEN DRUNKEN NIGHTS

If you like an Irish ceilidh then you’ll love this spectacular honouring the legacy of The Dubliners in song and story. Starting with ‘Black Velvet Band and Wild Rover, the whole audience, largely older audience, were joining in, singing and clapping for the first ten minutes. Led by a masterful narrator, Shane Morgan, successfully encouraging audience participation, we learnt the history of probably the most famous Irish band and heard all the Dubliners’ classic songs, including The Leaving of Liverpool, Dirty Old Town, The Town I Love So Well. Keeping the audience connection throughout, everyone knew all the words and enthusiastically joined in. The energy from the cast spread amongst the audience, creating a vibe.
The hugely talented cast – all accomplished musicians in their own rights – sound exactly like The Dubliners when they played together. If you shut your eyes you could be in O’Donoghues Bar in Dublin.
This is a great feel-good Irish show – you can see why it has had sell out performances in many countries on its recent world tour – including U.K. and Ireland, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Australian and Canada.
It finishes as it starts – classic Dubliners songs – Fields of Athenry, , The Irish Rover – all singing and clapping, ending with all on their feet belting out Molly Malone.
You go home with a spring in your step.
