Gaz Coombes

The loveable bearded Supergrass singer fronted a full band supporting his electronic pop-rock album ‘Here Come The Bombs’. That might sound humdrum but he actually put on a rather fun show, with experience shining through in his strong voice, amiable stage persona and confident guitar work. The electronic samples/band feel to the music sounded like an attempt to emulate Radiohead or Grizzly Bear, but filtered down into an easier, more quaffable concoction. Gaz mixed things up with some good covers, as well as sportingly playing a few Supergrass songs in the encore, leaving the audience satisfied, if not dazzled.
