Sightseers with Ben Wheatley Q and A
If perverted road trip movie ‘Kalifornia’ got drunk one night and ended up in bed with British comedy ‘Nuts in May’, ‘Sightseers’ would be their deliciously crafted love child. Written by the film’s stars Alice Lowe, Steve Oram and directed by Ben Wheatley, new couple Chris and Tina embark on a caravanning holiday to explore Yorkshire’s best sights. Pretty soon Tina begins to discover that Chris’ reactions to anti-social behaviour are not within the norm. Consistently witty, clever with glimpses of video-nasty gore, Sightseers is some much welcomed light relief from Wheatley’s equally brilliant but more disturbing ‘Kill List’.
