The Ecospot (eco design): a perfect clock for a Brighton home

Once a week at the Ecospot we look at something to do with the walls of your home, office or retail space. Today we are looking at a vintage clock.

Choosing the right clock for a space can be tricky. You need to think about size, material, style and whether it ticks or not. Do you want it to be an imposing piece or just a supplementary piece of decoration? And when you have answered these questions you need to find a clock.

But for today’s post we have found one which we just love, for the very obvious reasons.

It is massive at 72cm diameter and would be a great statement piece for any bare wall, but  would be perfect for any Brighton based interior as it once resided in St James’s Street, where a restaurant now sits.

The original dial and hands have also been refurbished with new movements so it does not need winding, so completely maintenance free.

A truly imposing vintage clock and a beautiful one at that. Not cheap at £1250, but if you remember that you are buying a piece of history as well as a timepiece it is not so bad.

Take a look at the great Clock Props website to see the huge range of vintage clocks they have available to both buy and hire. There will be something to suit your interior…
