Indian Summer celebrates Diwali, MADE12, Maccheroni, Blackbonds & firefighters so ‘Movember’


Indian Summer celebrates Diwali
Indian Summer restaurant celebrated Diwali on 25 November with a candlelit procession followed by refreshments,
masala tea and Indian sweets. The evening also included  beautifully dressed staff and a special Diwali menu. Diwali is the Festival of Lights, a five-day Hindu celebration.

Maccheroni
Maccheroni held a customer evening in their refurbished shop in Brighton on 22 November 2012. Guests enjoyed fresh Italian pastas and frittis followed by tiramisu and Italian coffee. On the evening shop manager Andrea Aiewo confirmed that customers can now buy their food from the new ‘delicatessen’ section on their website and next month the shop will be serving both Italian wine and beer too. Owner Silvia Sperduti also announced they are ready to open another shop in London. Silvi and her co-owner, Michele Pepponi, are confident that affordable, quality fresh pasta with tasty sauces coming from their Rome-based Michelin chef will win the customers over. We’re sold!

Black Bonds ‘Devil’s Gold EP’
The But! Music group hosted the Black Bonds ‘Devil’s Gold EP’ showcase on 22 November at Platinum Lace. The band of raw vocals, distorted guitars, and heavy drum beats was  sponsored by Ver 2 Vodka. Black Bonds’ members are Dan Hills (vocals/rhythm guitar), Callum Bunker (lead guitar), Steve Harris (drums) and Matt Sewell (bass guitar).

MADE12
The private view of MADE12-Brighton’s Design and Craft Fair, took place at the Corn Exchange on 22 November. Now in its seventh year MADE12 has built a reputation as one of the top design and craft shows in the country.The fair brought 120 of Britain’s most innovative and original makers to show and sell their work directly to the public. MADE, Brighton’s Design and Craft Fair, is organised by the team that runs the highly successful Brighton Art Fair since 2004 – artist and printmaker Sarah Young and administrator Jon Tutton.

Firefighters do ‘Movember’
