Stage: Miss Saigon – School Edition

From the creators of Les Miserables, Brighton Theatre Group’s Bad Girls goes East for inspiration

Following the sell-out success of Brighton Theatre Group’s Bad Girls, BTG Youth presents a heartbreaking tale of romance between a Vietnamese girl and an American GI in a musical adapted from the classic Puccini opera Madame Butterfly. Written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schӧnberg, the creators of Les Misérables, the show features musical numbers including ‘The Heat Is On In Saigon’, ‘I Still Believe’, ‘The Movie In My Mind’, ‘Why God Why?’, ‘Last Night Of The World’ and the anthem ‘Bui-Doi’.

Formed by the late Mavis Ward on 2 May 1968, Brighton Theatre Group (BTG) has for over 40 years provided musical theatre to the city of Brighton and Hove and is now one of the most respected companies on the South Coast of England. Today BTG benefits greatly from the talents of its company members be they performing, technical or production, and is managed by a dedicated team of 12 people.

The company is priviledged to perform at the Theatre Royal Brighton as well as smaller scale venues such as The Barn, Roedean and Pavilion theatres. The subsidiary company BTG Youth is a highly successful youth production company giving musical theatre experience to those aged between 7–18 years as well as being the lifeblood of the main company.

The company is a registered charity with all income sourced through production sales, members subscriptions and sponsorship where available.

BTG is proud of its history and the friendly nature of the company, in turn its members are equally proud to belong to a ground breaking organisation that works to achieve excellence in musical theatre.
