Good Law Solicitors: Experience counts
Warren Moore of Good Law talks to Latest Homes about their commitment to high standards of professionalism
“I am not a number, I am a free man” was a line that resonated through a generation as we watched Patrick McGoohan in The Prisoner. Iconic but fictional, yet even so a sentiment close to our hearts as we cope with the ever growing presence of corporate businesses to whom we are simply a number.
At Good Law Solicitors nothing could be further from the truth. Warren Moore, Senior Partner at the bright new practice, is adamant that as a company, all their clients will be treated as individuals with the undivided attention of the right person as and when it is required. It’s a commitment that he and all of his team are fully behind, and part of the deal is that once you have instructed them, the phone number that you will be given will be a direct line to the fully qualified legal professional that is directly handling your business. Warren is so committed to offering that level of professionalism that the firm will not be employing any paralegal staff. “All of the team here have at least seven years’ experience working as a fully qualified solicitor, and as we expand we will only be looking at professionals with at least five years’ experience.
“We always offer clients a free consultation. It is essential to do this as we need to be confident that we are the right people for the job. Likewise, the client must think whether we are the right people too. Also, we are not the kind of firm that slaps on a timer every time a client calls with a question.”
This is indeed true as Warren and the team will maintain a commitment to doing pro bono work for clients as and when required, and much of their work is conducted on a no win, no fee basis.
Within the law, specialism is essential, and at Good Law they are very happy to offer specialist services. Warren himself focuses on clinical or medical negligence. Initially he acted for doctors, health authorities and NHS Trusts as a defendant lawyer. However, he soon came to realise that it was more rewarding to act for the victims of medical accidents, and now represents patients and bereaved families.
Good Law’s central Hove offices are in a beautifully restored property that creates absolutely the right atmosphere of business professionalism without being intimidating. And the level of friendliness always starts with the offer of a cup of tea or coffee before getting down to the serious business at hand.
“We see ourselves as a general high street practice with specialist and niche areas like clinical negligence. We certainly plan to expand but measured growth and only with the right people who share our ethos. We are not in the market to be seen as a budget option. We are determined to build a brand that people will feel part of and dispel that old fashioned image of a partnership. Importantly, we see ourselves as a local firm focused on Brighton and Hove – truly local and independent.”
