Snapshots: Alive & Swinging’s Laura Nixon & Jim Devereaux
“Amy Winehouse wasn’t supposed to be in the show, she just evolved. She seems to be more popular than Marilyn because she can swear! Alive & Swinging is more theatrical than our usual shows – there is an interesting relationship between the characters. Marilyn and Amy are two sides who balance each other. Amy adds a modern cultural touch to the show and you can see Elvis’s whole career in one evening. We know Brighton expects a fabulous show and we intend to give it to them!”
Alive & Swinging is the hit show featuring Marilyn Monroe impersonator Laura Nixon and Jim Devereaux, one of the UK’s most popular Elvis impersonators. Both developed and honed their acts in Brighton before international success beckoned. They now travel worldwide, but especially enjoy coming back to their hometown. In their latest show Laura also does a fabulous impersonation of the late Amy Winehouse. The show features Marilyn, Elvis, Amy Winehouse and the six-piece Burning Love band in a fantastic fun performance. Alive & Swinging is at The Old Market on 30 March at 8pm.
