Stage: Shaolin Spectaular

Shaolin Warriors drop in direct from China with jaw-dropping feats of agility while Daniel O’ Donnell takes to the stage at Eastboure Theatres

Shaolin Warriors are known throughout the world as dedicated martial artists who train rigorously throughout their lives. They are once again showcasing their talent in Eastbourne to show the crowds the sort of athleticism that is normally only seen in the movies. They return to the Congress Theatre with their new show Return Of The Master after their hugely popular performance in 2011. They will follow up these events with a world tour to display their extraordinary talents to global audiences.

The show is one of phenomenal colour, ranging from atmospheric lights to hundreds of delightful costumes the warriors will don during the show. The 22 kung-fu masters will perform on the backdrop of eye-popping scenery and wonderfully arranged music. All of this flourish and panache however will not distract you from gasping for breath at the death-defying stunts being pulled off with expert precision. The warriors will be utilising an array of weaponry which will make kids wonder why they are told not to run with scissors. The strength and skill learned from Buddhist meditation will be a highlight of the performance and will display an everlasting professionalism that these warriors pride themselves on delivering each and every time they step foot on stage.

The show takes place on Friday 26 April and with around 750,000 people having seen the show on three continents, with all giving standing ovations, seeing really will be believing with this extravaganza.

O’Donnell fever
Daniel O’Donnell takes his veteran Irish charm and seemingly everlasting charisma to Eastbourne in a show likely to sell out in a flash. If his last visit to Eastbourne in 2010 is anything to go by, this could be one of the hottest tickets in recent years. Over 200 fans queued outside with some of the more die-hard O’Donnell enthusiasts camping overnight to ensure their space.

O’Donnell has been a household name in Britain and Ireland since the mid-’90s and has received many accolades including Donegal Person of the Year, the award he still considers his finest. He has released an incredible 39 albums over his career so shortage of material will certainly not be a problem during the show. Expect some of his best-selling hits such as ‘Give A Little Love’ and ‘I Just Wanna Dance With You’.

Known for his excellent relationship with his fans, O’Donnell regularly holds meet-and-greet sessions after gigs so keep your eyes and ears peeled for any word on this possibility. Tickets are already on sale so if you want an evening of old school entertainment then act fast and book an evening to remember. Known by many as ‘wee Daniel’, O’Donnell will be hitting the stage of the Congress Theatre Eastbourne on 16 October, with tickets having gone on sale at the remarkably early date of 13 April.

Showstoppers return
The most improvised show on the planet returns to Eastbourne as the Showstoppers look to impress once again after their rousing success in the seaside town in 2011. These guys are on the back of sellout shows in Edinburgh and London so are on full steam ahead as they plough through theatreland, leaving memories that will last eternally.

The basis of the show is to have audience members call out ideas to the performers. who in turn construct a jaw dropping display of improvisation. Songs are made up out of thin air and are sung like they have been in the works for weeks. This style has won the group constant critical acclaim and returning audiences who know they will see something different every time.
