Latest.TV Bmusic Viewers Choice Award

Excitement is building for the 2013 Brighton Music Awards a.k.a. ‘The Brights’ with the announcement that the Amy Winehouse Foundation (AWF) has been chosen as the awards affiliated charity. The AWF was set up by Amy’s family following the tragic passing of the star on 23 July 2011, aged just 27, whose music touched the lives of millions across the globe. The foundation was launched on 14 September 2011, on what would have been Amy’s 28th birthday and has been set up in Amy’s memory to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people and to support, inform and inspire vulnerable and disadvantaged young people to help them reach their full potential.

Brighton Music Awards Director David Courtney says: “We are thrilled and proud to be associated and support the AWF and to assist in raising the profile for such a worthy cause especially one that has great relevance with the ongoing drug culture embedded in the cities young population.” Amy’s mother Janis and her husband Richard will be attending the event and will be presenting one of the awards on the night.
