Viv Albertine & Laetitia Sadier
This inspired double-bill began with a solo set from Sadier that was like a one-woman Stereolab show; with their jazzy, French flavoured pop sound still firmly in place and her soft voice playfully skipping around the elongated phrases. Albertine, looking amazing in red latex, had a full band and a heap of new post-punk songs that were intelligent and tongue-in-cheek. Her unpretentious persona was endearing and her set covered creepy couples and IVF treatment, while her take on the state of the country was reminiscent of the Ants’ list song ‘Friends’. ‘Confessions Of A MILF’ completed a great set from this iconic yummy mummy.
